You’ve got to love a nice bubble bath. They are relaxing, rejuvenating and just plain fun. But, shaving in the bath can bit a bit of a challenge. We’ve pulled together our top bath shaving tips for women to teach you how to shave your legs and other body parts, so you can get touchably smooth skin with ease.
Prevent slips.
Just like in a shower, slipperiness can be a problem when shaving legs and other areas in the bath. The floor of your tub can become very slick due to residue from shaving cream, bath bombs, soap or body wash. Add a bathmat or adhesive treads to the floor of your tub to get a more secure footing (and sitting) space. Even with a bathmat, you should be careful when stepping into your tub.
Don’t get too hot.
Like really hot baths? Warm water is great for your body, but if the water is too hot, your skin can get dry and irritated. Try using cooler water to help keep your skin healthy and prep the hairs for your razor.
Choose a women’s razor.
Most women think that any razor will do when it comes to shaving legs and other body parts. But, we believe the best razor for women is one designed specifically for them. By using a razor that meets your body’s needs, you can feel more confident about your shave. We recommend a razor like the Venus Swirl. With an easy-to-grip handle, revolutionary FLEXIBALL™, and five Contour™ blades, it’s perfect for maneuvering around your curves. What’s most important is finding a razor that works for you.
Use shaving cream for women.
Your skin needs to stay hydrated and moisturized during and after your bath. To help protect your skin and promote hydration, make sure to shave with a shave gel or cream. There are a lot of creams from which to choose! Whether you have sensitive skin or like fun aromas, you can find a shave gel that fits your skin’s unique needs. Don’t skip this step! Shave gel helps keep your skin soft and increases the glide of your razor for a smooth shave.
Get everything wet.
Shaving your legs in the bath is easy, because your legs are under water most of the time. However, if you plan to shave your arms or underarms, make sure to get them wet, too. Submerge all body parts to be shaved under warm water for two to three minutes or apply a warm, wet washcloth to the desired areas. The moisture will soften hairs, making for a better and easier shave.
Take your time.
A warm bath is supposed to be relaxing, so take your time shaving and enjoy the experience. Play music or light candles for an even more calming experience. When you’re ready to shave, gently pull your razor across the desired areas and rinse your razor between strokes. Be careful when reaching those trickier spots – there’s no need for acrobatics. Simply prop your legs on the tub and shave away.
Shaving in the bath doesn’t have to be a chore. If you follow these steps, it can be just as relaxing as the rest of your bath experience. To learn more about different hair-removal methods, check out the video below!
